Pan Spices Up Bar Scene

Just when everyone's looking for a distraction from the looming war, versatile alternative band Pan sets out on a bar tour this month and next to satisfy listeners with music that"feeds the soul,"as they put it. Touching on everyday concerns as love, change, and even the afterlife, the catchy music of Pan fills listeners both for its wit and for its serious and relevant messages.Their debut album Parnaso Ng Payaso from BMG Records demonstrates this knack with lead vocalist Dong Abay and guitarist Onie Badiang, both formerly of Yano, teaming up anew to dish out 14 all-new compositions that take on the taste of rock music one moment, folk the next, and so forth. Rounding out the band are newcomers bassist Duane Cruz and drummer Melvin Leyson, both equally talented.Catch a glimpse of Pan tonight, March 18, at Padis Point along Jupiter Street in Makati City and at Bahay Alumni in UP Diliman, Quezon City.
